Why US might send Amanda Knox back to Italy if she loses appeal
Fri Jan 31, 2014
I disagree with Dershowitz. As a political decision, it's not a difficult call. Italian citizens don't vote in U.S. elections. There would be hugely negative fallout to extradite after this circus.
Top scientists urge cap on carbon emissions to limit climate change
Fri Sep 27, 2013
I'm perplexed that the activists continue to double down on the same outdated conclusion when the evidence points clearly toward the realization that a CO2-only predictive approach doesn't work (major understatement). Doesn't anyone care about their longterm reputation in the broader scientifi …
Cruz critics call 'Green Eggs' reading rotten
Wed Sep 25, 2013
Oh c'mon. Cut Sen. Cruz some slack. Green Eggs and Ham is almost 50 words...a few of them multi-syllabic. You can't possibly expect that he ever made it to the end before his wee head hit the pillow.

Quing Dynasty vases? As in Kwing not Qing? What period was this, praytell? Wait, wasn't Quing a kid's cereal in the 70s?
A view from Tehran's street: Hugo Chavez a friend
Wed Mar 6, 2013
People who work in the arts tend to be more liberal than the average person, but I think it's more complicated than that.
Carillo: Pistorius was 'jumpy' and had worries about safety
Tue Feb 19, 2013
Lots of holes in the story... 1) Even if he believed there was an intruder using the toilet, why would anyone with a brain not confirm that his girlfriend was in bed before firing blindly through a door at an unknown person? Especially since he had to go to the bed to get the gun! 2) He's screamin …
Taco Bell's Cool Ranch tacos: co-branding genius
Thu Jan 10, 2013
As the ultimate gimmick, Taco Bell could try selling actual tacos...swap out the prepackaged shells for fresh and hot corn tortillas, the ground beef for any of a dozen or more other meat products, and the cheese, lettuce, and diced tomatoes for fresh salsas and lime. When ethnic foods are mass-prod …
New York Marathon canceled, Bloomberg says
Fri Nov 2, 2012
This strikes me as one of the most bizarre decisions a public official could make. The mayor must be thankful that many of the homeless victims' computers have washed away, so he won't have to be disturrbed by their pathetic whining.
High school valedictorian denied diploma after saying 'hell' in speech
Mon Aug 20, 2012
I disagree strongly with the position taken in this piece. The word was actually used in the context of her reference and was not directed at anyone. Anybody, in Oklahoma or anywhere else, who chooses to be offended nonetheless by her speech can choose to be offended.
Who hates cilantro? Study aims to find out
Wed May 16, 2012
I enjoy cilantro, but one wouldn't expect only cilantro could be so polarizing. I often wonder if people who like coconut have completely diferent taste buds than I have.
